THE ENGLISH PROFICIENCY PROGRAM (TEPP) for Trainers

• 120 hours learning course
• 12 module course that teaches the candidates on the delivery of a 6 modules English Course for students to prepare for the world of study, work and assessments.

THE ENGLISH PROFICIENCY PROGRAM (TEPP) is an English Language training program designed to prepare candidates who are not native speakers of English and who wish to achieve a high quality, internationally recognized certificate in English. It covers training and exams in the 4 skills of English Language (reading, writing, listening and speaking.)

The Training is called TEPP – The English Proficiency Program

The Assessment is called TEP – Test of English Proficiency

With an international certificate that is recognized world-wide, a candidate with TEPP and passed the (TEP) test of english proficiency is:

• Employability-ready having been prepared to leverage English language proficiency at a level that is generally accepted in any country worldwide;
• Equipped with the 4 English Language Skills 
• Equipped with the nine test taking strategies and techniques that enables him/her to demonstrate for Online English writing, speaking listening and reading skills required to meet the challenges of Industry 4.0 and confidently thrive in diverse industry settings;
• Enabled with knowledge and skills that allows him to show mastery of correct grammar and use sparingly conversational English in any social or organizational milieu;   

The course is delivered by Internationally Coded Trainers via Face to face training or a proprietary Learning Management System of LGIS through a dedicated portal for use by global learners.

The program is designed to be taken in 120 learning hours. The course can be completed online at your own pace. For most candidates, it will take around 2-3 weeks to complete all of the lessons and earn your TEPP Certificate. These candidates include adults hoping to further their careers and to travel the world with ease, teenagers hoping to go overseas to continue their studies, and young learners hoping to pass school exams. The TEPP is also an essential qualification required by most schools when hiring English language (ESL) teachers. The TEPP identifies the level of English delivery course mastery. Candidates can be a trainer that is coded as Level 1 (clerical) Level 2 ( Operational) Level 3 ( Supervisory) Level 4 ( Managerial) and Master Trainer. The course will help you learn the foundational skills needed to become an English language teacher. This includes an essential understanding of how the English language is structured, along with a range of classroom management skills and language teaching techniques.By the end of the TEPP, the candidate will earn the qualification and gain a set of skills that can be used to teach English overseas and online and become an Internationally Coded Trainer.

Process: 

1. Enroll in the course in the global classroom of an Internationally Coded Trainer of TEPP. 
2. Study Online and Complete the 12 module training course.
3. Assessment and Grading to become an Internationally Coded Trainer for TEPP

TEPP training is an international certification that covers seven levels of English proficiency ranging from below A1 through to C2 – Foundation Level to Level 6. 

The average teacher-student ratio for this international qualification course is 1:60 using a learning platform that provides diverse modalities of student engagement functionalities and environment. 

Teaching and Learning Strategies

• The reading module prepares candidates to read and respond to different types of written language of an increasing range of complexity.
• The writing module prepares candidates to express themselves effectively in writing using a range of vocabulary and grammatical structures.
• The listening module prepares candidates to listen and respond to different types of spoken language of an increasing range of complexity.
• The speaking module aims to prepare candidates to express themselves in speech using a range of vocabulary and grammatical structures.

This program is designed to provide international English Language Proficiency and Qualifications Assessment designed for course placement, progress monitoring, exit examination and English proficiency training. 

The Program Requirements / Forms needed to complete the registration to the network list of ICT INTERNATIONALLY CODED TRAINERs highlights trainer  selection, trainer  training, training  implementation, collaboration, and continuing professional development.

TEPP will require the candidates  to work with a minimum of 20 students receiving lessons and assessment through the learning management system. This requires teachers to prepare lessons in the individual classroom and evaluate each student’s progress weekly. TEPP candidates must be highly motivated and competent and be willing to be trained and perform the duties of a ESL Trainer/ Teacher and prepare their students to take the TEP Test of English Proficiency.  

The program is so structured to develop knowledge and understanding of reading, writing, listening and speaking forms of English in meaningful contexts; develop students’ ability to read, write, listen and talk for gist and detail; and apply knowledge and understanding to the 4 skills; develop students’ ability to communicate effectively in English through the written and spoken word; develop students’ knowledge and understanding of English grammar, and the ability to apply it accurately in the appropriate context and lay a suitable foundation for the further study of the language and to prepare students to take the TEP Test of English Proficiency. 

The program likewise purports to empower and develop critical thinking among participating trainers/ candidates by going through rigorous training and assessment, providing them the opportunity and merit to be awarded with English Language Proficiency Certificate that is internationally recognized and enable students to achieve qualifications ready for the global market.

TEPP The English Proficiency Program Certificate is accepted around the world by Education Ministries, Government Bodies, Universities and employers as proof of English language Proficiency. 

TEST OF ENGLISH PROFICIENCY ( TEP)

Is an English online exam that utilizes artificial intelligence-systems to ensure accurate and correct voice, pronunciation and speaking, reading , writing and listening skills. It includes taking an exam involving 9 question types: Read Aloud, Repeat, Sentence Builds, Conversations, Typing, Sentence Completion, Dictation, Passage reconstruction and Summary and Opinion and the four Language skills. Online Learning Delivery will entail the use of artificial-intelligent test tools, sophisticated automated scoring technology and test security systems in the delivery of  English Proficiency assessment to ensure validity and reliability.

The Test is taken in no more than 1 hour. If a candidate believes that he/she is ready, she can directly take the TEP Test of English Proficiency without going through the rigorous training of TEPP The English Proficiency Program. However, if grades are low as shown in the TEP score report, a candidate may opt to book himself or herself for training and workshops. The TEP ( Test of English Proficiency)  certificate bears CEFR and GSE levels of the candidate.
